Reviewing Vendor Contracts Can Lead to Savings for Hospitals

Many times hospitals and health systems enter into contracts with vendors and then fail to review those contracts or the bills they receive subsequent to executing the agreement.

According to SIB Development & Consulting, hospitals can find savings in several different areas of vendor contracting such as maintenance, advertising, landscaping and television costs.

SIB has a very high success rate of identifying cost savings for its customers, as the company has identified areas of savings for 98 percent of its customers.

One of SIB's success stories came from a 3,000-bed healthcare system where SIB was able to reduce the system's cable/satellite television costs by more than 80 percent.
