Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash., will begin construction on an emergency department expansion that will cost the hospital $18.6 million, according to a hospital news release.
The expanded emergency department will feature completely separate treatment areas for adult and pediatric patients and families; 15 additional emergency exam rooms; a psychiatry triage room for pediatric patients; a dedicated trauma room for children and more.
Construction is expected to last 17 months.
