President Obama Threatens Veto of Legislation to Defund Reform

President Obama has threatened to veto legislation that would eliminate grants to states for insurance exchanges as well as legislation that would eliminate funding for school-based health clinics, according to a The Hill report.

"The Administration will strongly oppose legislation that attempts to erode the important provisions of the Affordable Care Act that are making healthcare more affordable and accessible for all Americans," the Office of Management and Budget said in a policy statement.

H.R. 1213, which would eliminate insurance exchange grant funding, is scheduled for discussion in the House this week.

However, neither bill is expected to reach the President's desk, according to the report.
