Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health is beginning a $14 million expansion of its new Parkview Regional Medical Center six weeks before it opens, according to a News-Sentinel report.
The project will add 37,000 square feet of space to the new hospital's medical/surgical floor and intensive care unit. This addition to the more than $500 million in construction was motivated by a study and evaluation of health trends and current and future needs in the community, according to the report.
Parkview Health plans to complete the expansion this spring and will open the hospital March 17.
