Illinois Planning Board Approves New Lincoln Hospital, Springfield Surgery Center

The Illinois health planning board has approved a replacement for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln and a new surgery center in Springfield, according to The State Journal-Register.

The replacement for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of Memorial Health System based in Springfield, is expected to be completed in late 2010 or early 2011 and cost cost about $50 million, according to the report.

The new Prairie Surgicenter, which will be connected to Dr. Sandra Yeh’s Prairie Eye & Lasik Center and focus on ophthalmology, is expected to open in 2010.
