Genesis HealthCare System, based in Zanesville, Ohio, has unveiled plans for a new patient tower that will be constructed on Bethesda Hospital's campus, also in Zanesville, according to a health system news release.
The new patient tower is part of a larger $125 million facilities enhancement program, which also includes total renovation of Bethesda Hospital. Initial plans call for the new patient care tower to be attached to the completely renovated Bethesda Hospital building, which will create a single medical center. A new outpatient cancer center and medical office building will also be built on the campus.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2012, with plans to open the new medical center in early 2015.
