Although the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's health insurance exchanges will not open until Oct. 1, HHS has announced consumers can begin creating online accounts now to prepare.
For now, consumers can just create a basic account with a username and password. Shopping for coverage will not begin in earnest until September when details on available plans are released through the online marketplaces, according to a report in The Washington Post.
