University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, will more closely align its UH Medical Group and UH Medical Practices, which together consist of 1,400 physicians, according to a report by Crain's Cleveland Business.
The UH-employed physicians will come together under one management umbrella, which will be called UH Physicians Services, according to the report.
Michael Nochomovitz, MD, will serve as president of the newly formed group. Dr. Nochomovitz previously served as president and chief medical officer of UH Medical Practices and UH Management Services Organization.
The new structure should increase efficiencies for the practice groups, which have lost money in recent years. The move is expected to create a $5 million savings in its first year, according to the report.
