Boston-based Caritas Christi Health Care, which recently agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Cerberus Capital, is moving forward with plans to acquire Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I., according to a report by the Woonsocket Call.
Landmark is scheduled to ask the Rhode Island Superior Court to allow it to enter into a management agreement with Caritas. If the agreement is approved, Caritas would have 180 days to acquire the Woonsocket facility, according to the report.
A spokesman from Landmark said the deal is expected to close regardless of whether the Cerberus acquisition of Caritas is realized, according to the report.
