Arizona's Carondelet Health and Sierra Vista Regional Sign Agreement to Share Resources

Tucson, Ariz.-based Carondelet Health Network has signed an "integrative network agreement" with 88-bed Sierra Vista (Ariz.) Regional Health Center, according to a Carondelet news release.

The agreement will go into effect on April 17 and will allow the health system and hospital to share resources and improve healthcare access to area residents. The two entities will retain separate administrative and governance structures, according to a report by the Arizona Daily Star.

"Our affiliation with Sierra Vista Regional Health Center will only make us both stronger and help us fulfill our commitment to Carondelet 202, our promise to transform healthcare in southern Arizona through more efficient and effective use of our resources," Ruth W. Brinkley, president and CEO of Carondelet said in the release.

Carondelet Health Network includes four hospitals, a neurological institute, 20 physician offices and two ASCs. The agreement will move forward despite resistance from some physicians who asked for a public hearing on the agreement, according to Arizona Daily Star report.
