"We believe this decision will support access to hospital-based outpatient mental health services, especially in rural communities where the number of hospitals offering these services has been rapidly declining but demand remains high," AHA said in a statement.
Most of the services CMS has proposed easing supervision on deal with psychotherapy. Others include bladder catheterization, immunization administration and smoking and tobacco counseling.
CMS should include other services in this "hybrid" supervision level, AHA said.
