The American Hospital Association and five other hospital organizations have filed a friend-of-the-court brief in support of the expansion of Medicaid under healthcare reform, according to an AHA News Now report.
The brief urged the Supreme Court to uphold the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's expansion of Medicaid and reject the argument of Florida and 25 other states that the expansion is unlawfully "coercive," according to the report.
The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on challenges to the PPACA on March 26-28.
