6 Reasons to Use Badges for Hospital Visitor Identification

In a recent blog post, security solutions vendor IntelliCentrics offers six reasons to use badges for all hospital visitors.

  1. Meet standards. By law, hospitals are required to know who is entering and exiting their facility.
  2. Prevent the spread of the seasonal flu. Badges can allow hospitals to know at a glance who has had their flu shot and who should be wearing a mask.
  3. Improve identification. Visitors often wear scrubs; badges allow for the differentiation between visitors in scrubs and staff in scrubs.
  4. Increase security confidence. Badges allow hospitals to feel comfortable with who is in the facility and their qualifications, background and who they represent.
  5. Better infection and outbreak control. If there is an outbreak of an illness that involves a hospital, having all visitors on a badge list makes it easy to check their immunity and get back in touch if necessary.
  6. Control access. Access can be revoked for those who do not have business in facility.
