36 Reasons Why Health Reform's Repeal Would Still Impact Massachusetts' Residents

John E. McDonough, professor of practice at the Harvard School of Public Health, outlines 36 ways a repeal of President Obama's healthcare reform could affect Massachusetts residents, who already have their state's own health reform, according to a Boston Globe report.

To answer the question of why a repeal of the healthcare reform law would matter, Mr. McDonough combed through major sections of the Affordable Care Act. He found 36 provisions that, if repealed, would be lost or that, if kept intact, would be beneficial to Massachusetts residents.

The 36 provisions, some of which are already in effect, include requirements that payors provide coverage for individuals in approved clinical trials and that all effective clinical preventive services be covered by insurance policies.
