More than one out of four people polled in the Kaiser Family Foundation's most recent Health Tracking Poll expect to pay a health insurance tax beginning in 2014 under Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act rules requiring nearly all adults to have health insurance.
However, that percentage drops significantly when the wording is framed in a slightly different way. Only 12 percent of people participating in the Kaiser survey expect to pay a "fine" when the health insurance requirements kick in beginning in 2014.
The Kaiser health tracking poll also asked participants questions about Medicaid expansion and overall feelings about the PPACA. Twenty-six percent of people surveyed said they have an opinion about the healthcare law, but there's a chance they could change their minds; 20 percent surveyed said they have yet to decide how they feel about the landmark healthcare law.
