Earlier this week, CMS reported approximately 3 million people enrolled in Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program.
That's a 5.2 percent increase over the average monthly enrollment for July through September 2013, according to the report. According to a new analysis from consulting firm Avalere Health, if enrollment increases at the same rate observed between January and February, Medicaid sign-ups could reach 3.7 million through the end of March. HHS has not yet released Medicaid enrollment totals for last month.
According to the analysis, the following 10 states drove more than 80 percent of Medicaid enrollment through February.
1. California (842,000 enrollees)
2. Washington (252,000)
3. Florida (245,000)
4. Oregon (218,000)
5. Colorado (179,000)

7. Massachusetts (157,000)
