100 hospitals with great women's health programs | 2014

Becker's Hospital Review has named the following organizations to the 2014 edition of its annual list, "100 hospitals with great women's health programs."

These hospitals all offer outstanding health services geared toward women, such as gynecology, obstetrics, women-focused heart care and women-focused cancer care, among other women's health needs.

Hospitals were selected for this list based on clinical accolades and recognition for women's health excellence from various healthcare groups and agencies. Those agencies include U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CareChex and UNICEF's Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative.

Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis). Abbott Northwestern, part of Minneapolis-based Allina Health, has been recognized numerous times for providing outstanding care for women. U.S. News & World Report ranked it in the top 15 in the nation for gynecology for 2014-15, and the hospital clocked in as No. 2 in the nation for women's health excellence in CareChex's 2015 rankings. The hospital is home to the Minneapolis Heart Institute, which has a special Women's Heart Health Program that offers support, education and clinical help to women to prevent and treat heart disease.

Advocate Christ Medical Center (Oak Lawn, Ill.). More than 4,000 families choose Advocate Christ Medical Center, part of Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care, as the place to have their babies each year. Beyond labor and delivery, other women's services offered at Christ Medical Center include oncology, a center for breast health, incontinence treatment, reproductive endocrinology and a Women's Health Center that offers comprehensive care exclusively for women. Christ Medical Center has received numerous accolades for its women health programs, including being ranked in the top 50 for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15, being ranked in the top 15 in the nation for women's health by CareChex for 2015 and receiving the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades for 2014.

Aultman Hospital (Canton, Ohio). Aultman Hospital offers a bevy of high-quality services for women, especially when it comes to obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital, which U.S. News & World Report named as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15, offers maternal-fetal medicine and genetic counseling, lactation services and a birth center that includes 40 private suites and a 16-bed nursery. CareChex ranked Aultman Hospital in the top 25 in the nation for women's health for 2015.

Aurora West Allis (Wis.) Medical Center. Aurora West Allis Medical Center is home to the Aurora Women's Pavilion, which offers tertiary women's obstetric care, maternal-fetal medicine and a Level III newborn intensive care unit. It also offers a breast center accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. U.S. News & World Report named the hospital as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15 and CareChex ranked the hospital in the top 50 in the nation for women's health for 2015.

Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center (Sioux Falls, S.D.). Avera McKennan, part of 300-facility Avera Health, is a 545-bed tertiary hospital that is home to the region's only team devoted to breast surgery and has a comprehensive breast health center, the Avera Breast Center. The hospital also has women's healthcare specialists in areas like perinatology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology and nurse midwifery. Additionally, Avera McKennan offers women's midlife care for women in their 40s, 50s and 60s with problems like hormone, thyroid, adrenal gland or gastrointestinal imbalance. CareChex ranked the hospital in the top 20 in the nation for women's health excellence for 2015 and U.S. News & World Report named its as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15.

Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center (Phoenix). Banner Good Samaritan offers numerous women's health services, including breast and heart health services, a maternal fetal center and gynecology services. In fact, U.S. News & World Report named the 733-bed hospital as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15. As an added bonus, 80 percent of the hospital's employees are women and so are most of its key leaders, lending the hospital an understanding of women's issues. Additionally, the hospital serves as the primary referral site for high-risk and complicated women's medical services.

Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis). Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the No. 1 hospital in Missouri, according to U.S. News & World Report, offers a variety of high-quality obstetrics and gynecology care, including urogynecology through its division of urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery. Its gynecology services rank in the top 50 in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. Barnes-Jewish Hospital also treats women with gynecologic cancer through its division of gynecologic oncology. Additionally, Barnes-Jewish offers a CenteringPregnancy program where women receive their care and education with other soon-to-be mothers who are due around the same time.

Baystate Medical Center (Springfield, Mass.). Baystate Medical Center, a 716-bed facility with 57 bassinets, is the only Level I trauma center in western Massachusetts. It and its system, Baystate Health, offers a full range of women's health services. The hospital's birthing center offers private rooms and anesthesiologists and pediatricians on-site 24/7. BMC is a leader in its area for minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and its gynecologic surgeons capitalize on both. U.S. News & World Report ranked BMC's gynecology services in the top 50 in the nation for 2014-15.

Beaumont Hospital (Royal Oak, Mich.). Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak is home to Beaumont's Women's Urology Center, where clinicians treat women with bladder dysfunction, pelvic pain, pelvic flood dysfunction, interstitial cystitis and sexual dysfunction. The center, which opened in 2009, helped the hospital to be ranked in the top 50 in the nation for urology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. U.S. News & World Report also ranked Beaumont Royal Oak in the top 50 for gynecology as well. Additionally, the hospital features a high risk evaluation clinic for breast cancer.

Bethesda North Hospital (Cincinnati). Bethesda North Hospital, part of Cincinnati-based TriHealth, is home to the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care, the only local breast center accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. In an effort to improve care for non-English speaking pregnant women, the system offers bilingual services at the Bethesda OB/GYN Center at Bethesda North Hospital. Healthgrades gave the hospital its Women's Health Excellence Award in 2014, and CareChex ranked it in the top 50 in the nation for women's health for 2015.

Billings (Mont.) Clinic. One of the more unique women's health services offered by Billings Clinic is the vein clinic, which treats vein disorders like varicose veins or spider veins with minimally invasive surgery and other procedures. Billings Clinic also houses the Reger Family Center for Breast Health for diagnostics and a Breast Boutique with specialty products like surgical bras and breast prostheses for post-mastectomy and cancer patients. CareChex ranked Billings Clinic in the top 15 in the nation for women's health for 2015, and U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15.

Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston). Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, has a rich history of offering top-of-the-line care to women that dates back to 1832 when its predecessor hospital, the Boston Laying-In Hospital, opened as one of the nation's first maternity hospitals. Today, it offers an array of services and specialties geared toward women, including obstetrics and gynecology, bone and joint disease, cardiovascular disease, women's neurology and women's sports medicine. U.S. News & World Report, among many other award organizations, has recognized the hospital's women's health prowess by ranking it as the No. 2 hospital in the nation for gynecology for 2014-15.

Carilion Roanoke (Va.) Memorial Hospital. Part of Carilion Clinic, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is ranked in the top 50 in the nation for women's health by CareChex for 2015. Women-specific services include breast care; gynecologic specialty care like gynecologic oncology, infertility and reproductive endocrinology and urogynecology; and maternity care. U.S. News & World Report named Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's gynecology services as high-performing for 2014-15.  

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles). Each year, roughly 7,000 women deliver their children at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which equates to more babies being born there than in any other California hospital. The hospital has several centers for different aspects of women's health, including the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center and the women's Continence and Pelvic Health Center. The hospital also offers a Women's Cancer Program, which includes gender-specific cancers and other cancers that affect women differently than men. Cedars-Sinai has been nationally recognized many times for its excellence in women's health, including receiving the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2014 and being ranked nationally for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report.

Christiana Care Hospital (Newark, Del.). A 913-bed hospital, Christiana Care provides a wide array of women's services, including breast health. The Christiana Care Breast Center at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is the only facility in the region devoted exclusively to breast care, diagnosis and treatment. The hospital is also the only in its region to be recognized by HHS as a National Community Center of Excellence in Women's Health. Christiana Care was named one of the top 20 hospitals for women's health by CareChex for 2015.

City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.). Physicians and researchers who have a commitment to increasing the understanding of breast and gynecologic cancers come together through the women's cancer program at City of Hope. The hospital's women's cancers program is the only one in the country to offer a biopsychosocial approach to care, focusing on the disease and the biological, psychological and social factors that significantly effect women who are battling cancer. The program is also one of only a few in the country to routinely use intraperitoneal chemotherapy to treat certain types of gynecologic cancer. City of Hope was named one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Cleveland Clinic. Through its center for specialized women's health, Cleveland Clinic, one of the most prestigious in the nation, provides patients access to its breast center services as well as the departments of internal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology. The hospital is also home to a fertility center and a center for menstrual disorders, fibroids and hysteroscopic services. In its 2014-15 rankings, U.S. News & World Report named Cleveland Clinic the No. 3 hospital for gynecology in the nation.

Duke University Hospital (Durham, N.C.). A full-service tertiary care hospital, Duke University Hospital has gynecologic oncologists who specialize in treating women with cancers that affect their reproductive systems, including cervical cancer and uterine cancer. The 957-bed hospital has a fertility center that features an ultra-sterile in vitro fertilization laboratory, which uses a positive pressure filtration system to eliminate airborne toxins and pathogens that can reduce the chances of a successful pregnancy after IVF. Duke University Hospital's gynecology program was named one of the top 50 in the country by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.  

Edward Hospital (Naperville, Ill.). The hospital includes 352 private patient rooms and has 4,700 employees, including 1,200 nurses and a medical staff of 1,050 physicians. Edward Hospital offers comprehensive breast cancer care, including initial cancer screenings, diagnosis, progressive treatments, supportive counseling and therapies. For women with certain risk factors, the hospital has a breast cancer risk assessment program designed to catch breast cancer in its most treatable stage. The staff at Edward Hospital performs more than 16,000 mammograms and 500 breast biopsies every year. Edward Hospital was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health by CareChex in 2014.

El Camino Hospital (Mountain View, Calif.). For more than 50 years, El Camino Hospital has been providing its services in the South San Francisco Bay area. The hospital is home to a breast health center, which is one of the largest breast screening centers in northern California and is an FDA Certified Mammography Facility. Additionally, U.S. News & World Report named El Camino Hospital one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecology in the nation for 2014-15.

Emory University Hospital (Atlanta). Staffed exclusively by Emory University School of Medicine faculty who are also members of the Emory Clinic, Emory University Hospital has gained national recognition for several of its programs, including gynecology. In 2014, the hospital received the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. U.S. News & World Report named Emory University Hospital one of the top 50 for gynecology in the nation for 2014-15.

Evanston (Ill.) Hospital. As the nucleus of NorthShore University HealthSystem, Evanston Hospital is home to one of the system's four clinical sites offering preventive care, evaluation and treatment for several women's healthcare issues, including gynecologic cancers and breast health. The hospital serves as a regional perinatal network hospital for northeastern Illinois, with both high-risk mothers and high-risk babies being transferred to the hospital for access to its technology and staff. Evanston Hospital was named a high performing hospital in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Fairview Southdale Hospital (Edina, Minn.). Part of Fairview Health Services, which has had a partnership with the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians since 1997, Fairview Southdale Hospital offers a number of women's health services, including infertility treatment, gynecologic oncology and menopausal medicine. The hospital was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health by CareChex in 2014. That same year, Fairview Southdale Hospital also received the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

Florida Hospital Orlando. Founded by one of the first female physicians in the nation in 1908, Florida Hospital Orlando offers a number of services through its women's health program, including gynecology, infertility services and maternal fetal medicine. U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital in the top 10 nationally for gynecology in 2014-15. Florida Hospital Orlando is currently building a 12-story patient tower just for women, Florida Hospital for Women. The hospital, which will deliver woman-centric care in a hotel-like setting, will include 14 labor and delivery suites, an 81-bed neonatal intensive care unit and 13 operating rooms for obstetrics and women's services. It's expected to open in 2015.

Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center (La Crosse, Wis.). Part of nonprofit Gundersen Health System, which has hospitals and clinics located throughout western Wisconsin, northeastern Iowa and southeastern Minnesota, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center is a teaching hospital that offers a number of services specifically geared toward women's healthcare. In 2014, the hospital received the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. Gundersen Lutheran is a Baby-Friendly facility as designated by Baby-Friendly USA.

Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center. As the flagship hospital for Hackensack University Health Network, HackensackUMC was founded in 1888 with just 12 beds. The hospital has more than 100 physicians providing women's healthcare services, and it is home to the 300,000-square-foot Sarkis Gabrellian Women's and Children's Pavilion, which features 60 private mother-baby rooms and a maternal-fetal medicine perinatal diagnostic unit. The hospital received the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades in 2014.

Hartford (Conn.) Hospital. Founded in 1854, Hartford Hospital is the major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Connecticut Medical School. Named one of the top 10 hospitals in the nation for women's health by CareChex for 2015, maternal-fetal medicine and gynecology are among the services the hospital's women's program offers. Hartford Hospital is a Baby-Friendly facility as designated by Baby-Friendly USA.

Henry Ford Hospital (Detroit). Part of the Henry Ford Health System, Henry Ford Hospital treats more cancer patients than any other hospital in Michigan and offers patients screenings for early breast cancer diagnosis at the Josephine Ford Center Cancer Institute. The hospital's gynecology team also performs minimally invasive robotic surgery for a range of disorders, including gynecologic cancers, uterine fibroids and pelvic floor disorders. In 2014, Henry Ford Hospital received the Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

Highland Hospital (Rochester, N.Y.). Highland Hospital, which dates back to 1889, offers a wide variety of women's health services from wellness checks to diagnostic services to advanced treatment options. Some services include pelvic surgery, gynecologic oncology, gynecologic urology, menopause management and genetic counseling, to name a few. Highland was ranked No. 6 in the nation for medical excellence in women's health by CareChex for 2015 and was recognized as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian (Newport Beach, Calif.). Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is home to the Hoag Women's Health Institute, nationally recognized for its specialized breast care, gynecological care and maternal child services. The institute is certified as a Baby-Friendly birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA. Hoag is also a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence according to the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers and a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology according to the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Hoag was named high-performing in gynecology in the 2014-15 U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Hospital of the Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia). The Women's Cancer Center at Fox Chase provides personalized interventions for women with or at risk for cancer by including both clinical and research programs to care for patients. The hospital offers some of the most advanced care and treatment options for breast, gynecologic and ovarian cancer. Fox Chase was ranked No. 20 in the nation for medical excellence in women's health by CareChex for 2015. Additionally, the cancer center was recognized as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report in its 2014-15 rankings.

Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital (Indianapolis). Mothers and mothers-to-be can feel confident they're in good hands at IU Health Methodist, which boasts a wide array of maternity care services. IU Health Methodist is home to a maternity center, neonatal intensive care unit, a breastfeeding center and much more. The Indianapolis hospital is a certified Baby-Friendly birth facility and received a 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. In addition to caring for pregnant women, IU Health Methodist tailors preventive information and treatment for cardiovascular disease and pelvic health to fit women.

Inova Fairfax Hospital (Falls Church, Va.). Inova Fairfax Hospital was ranked among the top 50 best hospitals in the nation for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report and is the recipient of a 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. Inova's Breast Care Institute offers comprehensive care, nationally recognized specialists and world-class clinical trials. Inova's Women's Hospital at Fairfax gives women access to a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit and services for urogynecology, including pelvic floor disorders, and gynecologic oncology.

John Muir Medical Center (Walnut Creek, Calif.). Breast health services, pregnancy and new parent services, and women's continence and pelvic health services are just a few types of the women-focused care offered at John Muir Medical Center. The 572-licensed bed hospital also specializes in high- and low-risk obstetrics. John Muir was ranked within the top 50 on two lists; the 2014-15 U.S. News & World Report list for gynecology (No. 28) and the CareChex list of America's Top Quality Hospitals 2015 for women's health (No. 27). John Muir Health is also recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence by the National Consortium of Breast Centers.

Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore). The Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital offers women's health care services, including yearly checkups, prenatal care and advanced gynecologic surgeries. The hospital was ranked No. 12 in the country by U.S. News & World Report for gynecology. Johns Hopkins Hospital is also home to the Women's Cardiovascular Health Center, Women's Mood Disorders Center and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, which has special centers for cervical dysplasia, breast health and ovarian cancer.

Kaiser Permanente Orange County-Anaheim (Calif.) Medical Center. Kaiser Permanente has hospitals all over but the Orange County-Anaheim Medical Center is particularly renown for its women's services. At the Anaheim hospital, women have access to healthcare assessments, pregnancy and maternity care, gynecologic services, reproductive infertility services, minimally invasive surgery and major subspecialties such as urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, reproductive endocrinology and maternal-fetal medicine. Anaheim Medical Center is certified as a Baby-Friendly birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA and was ranked in the top 100 hospitals for women's health by CareChex for 2015. It was also recognized as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital. At Lancaster General, specialized services such as women's-focused heart health, breast and cancer care, osteoporosis diagnosis and prevention, menopause education and counseling, fitness and wellness programs, diagnostic testing, and maternity care are available. The Lancaster Women & Babies Hospital also focuses on the healthcare needs of women. Its maternity care services include a labor and delivery unit, couplet care, nurseries and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Lancaster General is the recipient of a 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. The Women & Babies Hospital, which is certified as a Baby-Friendly birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA, also includes a women's specialty center that houses specialists in women's heart health, women's digestive health and women's behavioral health.

Lehigh Valley Hospital (Allentown, Pa.). Lehigh Valley Hospital was ranked among the best in the nation on two women's health-focused lists; the U.S. News & World Report list for gynecology and the CareChex list of America's Top Quality Hospitals 2015 for women's health excellence. Lehigh Valley is home to the Center for Women's Medicine which offers cancer screenings, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, prenatal care, screenings for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, and immunizations. Lehigh Valley's breast health service has been recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology's Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging.

Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC (Pittsburgh). Magee-Women's Hospital of UPMC offers a comprehensive array of specialty gynecologic and obstetric services. Ranked No. 7 in the country by U.S. News & World Report for gynecology for 2014-15, Magee-Women's is home to the Center for Diabetes and Pregnancy, the Center for Women with Disabilities, the Women's Midlife Health Center, the Center for Medical Genetics and Genomics, the Dan Berger Cord Blood Program, the Center for Bladder and Pelvic Health, and the Women's Cancer Program. Since 1911, more than 500,000 babies have been born at Magee-Women's and outpatient visits have grown to roughly 200,000 a year.

Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Massachusetts General Hospital originated as the Vincent Memorial Hospital in 1891 and has been recognized for advancing the science and the quality of care for women ever since. The department boasts innovative treatments and experts in cancer, infertility, gynecology, obstetrics and urogynecology, to name a few specialties. Massachusetts General Hospital was ranked No. 5 in the country by U.S. News & World Report for gynecology in 2014-15 and was also recognized among the top 100 hospitals for women's health by CareChex for 2015.

Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.). Mayo Clinic, recognized as a 2014-15 Honor Roll hospital by U.S. News & World Report, ranked No. 1 in eight specialties, including gynecology. The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mayo Clinic supports women through childbearing and beyond menopause. Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital was also named the No. 1 for women's health by CareChex for 2015. At Mayo Clinic's Breast Diagnostic Clinic, physicians coordinate various services from imaging to pathology and surgery so patients receive all of their care in one facility. Additionally, Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Mary's Campus was awarded Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award.

Memorial Mission Hospital (Asheville, N.C.). The nonprofit hospital serves as the hub of the Mission Health System and has more than 800 licensed beds and bassinets and a medical staff of more than 540. Memorial Mission Hospital was ranked No. 15 in the nation for women's health by CareChex for 2015 and was ranked as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. The hospital also received Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award. Mission Health's women's department includes community outreach as one of its core values, with two distinct outreach programs: education, which includes prenatal classes, and health fairs and screenings.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York City). Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the world's oldest and largest private cancer center. It is currently one of 41 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center was named the No. 1 hospital in the nation in cancer and No. 4 in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. The cancer center offers various educational, counseling and support programs in women's health, including female sexual medicine and breast cancer, endometrial and other uterine cancer and ovarian cancer survivorship and support groups. The center also provides its cancer patients with unique therapeutic activities, such as art therapy, a writing program, canine therapy, music therapy and a patient-to-patient support program.

Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Mercy Hospital St. Louis has 787 licensed beds, a staff of 7,725 including 681 physicians, and in 2013 it had 34,998 acute inpatient discharges. The hospital was ranked No. 4 in the nation for women's health by CareChex for 2015 and is accredited in breast ultrasound by the American College of Radiology. Mercy serves as the region's premier birthing center and its neonatal care unit — the largest in Missouri — is designated Level III, the highest level.

Mercy Medical Center (Baltimore). U.S. News & World Report ranked Mercy Medical Center as the No. 2 hospital in the Baltimore metro area and in Maryland and as one of the nation's best hospitals in gynecology in its 2014-15 rankings. Mercy Medical Center has been designated as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by the Women's Choice Awards over multiple years. The Center for Women's Health and Medicine at Mercy Medical Center, led by Neil B. Rosenshein, MD, is one of the region's leaders in women's healthcare, particularly in mid-life women's cancers. The center provides imaging, diagnostic and specialty services, gynecologic oncology, ovarian and breast cancer centers, cosmetic medicine, breast reconstruction and other services.

Methodist Hospital (Omaha, Neb.). Methodist Hospital, part of Nebraska Methodist Health System, has more than 2,000 full-time employees, more than 400 physicians on staff and sees approximately 22,000 patients each year. Methodist Hospital is ranked as the No. 2 hospital in Nebraska and is nationally ranked as one of the best hospitals in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report in its 2014-15 rankings. Methodist Women's Hospital, also part of Nebraska Methodist Health System, delivers more babies than any other hospital in the region and houses the area's largest maternal-fetal medicine group and neonatal intensive care unit.

Mon General Hospital (Morgantown, W.Va.). Mon General Hospital, part of the Monongalia Health System, is among the 2 percent of U.S. hospitals to receive both the Healthgrades 2014 Outstanding Patient Experience Award and the Healthgrades 2014 Patient Safety Excellence Award. The hospital was also ranked No. 9 on CareChex's list of Top Quality Hospitals in Women's Health in 2015. Mon General offers female patients a variety of services and resources. The Ruby McQuain Birth Center is designed under the labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum concept, and it features 16 birthing suites and a dedicated C-section operating room. The Mon General Hospital Health Library of Women's Health includes extensive informational and testimonial resources on pregnancy, menopause, sexual health, breast cancer, preventive care among other topics.

Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center. Morristown Medical Center, the flagship hospital of Atlantic Health System, was ranked No. 2 in New Jersey and was named one of the nation's best hospitals in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. The medical center is a designated Level III Regional Perinatal Center by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, and it also received Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award. Morristown Medical Center's women's services include advanced diagnostic and treatment services for women at all stages of life, with specialists in adolescent gynecology, breast cancer, depression and postpartum depression, gynecology and related cancers, including ovarian, cervical and endometrial, maternity, infertility and others.

Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City). Mount Sinai Hospital, ranked as the No. 3 hospital overall in New York by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15, offers several areas of care for women's health, including a special women's gastrointestinal health center. The Dublin Breast Cancer of the Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai features the full ranges of breast health services like diagnostics, surgery, medical and radiation oncology and post-treatment support. U.S. News & World Report also named the hospital as high-performing in gynecology in its most recent rankings.

Munson Medical Center (Traverse City, Mich.). Munson Medical Center, a 391-bed nonprofit hospital, is the largest among the eight hospitals within Traverse City-based Munson Healthcare. The medical center was listed among CareChex's Top Quality Hospitals in Women's Health in 2015 and is recognized as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. It also received Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award. Munson Medical Center's Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation created the Women's Cancer Fund which provides financial assistance to patients for supportive care when other means have been exhausted, including prosthesis, transportation, childcare during treatment, home medications and more.  

NewYork-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell (New York City). NewYork Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell is ranked as the No. 1 hospital in New York and No. 13 in the nation in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. This year, NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical Center earned Healthgrades' Women's Health Excellence Award. With a full range of preventive and therapeutic gynecological services, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital offers services spanning annual check-ups, screenings and treatments of the reproductive system and gynecological cancers. The obstetrics department offers specialized perinatal care, reproductive assistance and high-risk pregnancy care in addition to traditional pregnancy services.  

Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago). A nationally renowned academic medical center, Northwestern Memorial serves as the primary teaching hospital for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Northwestern Memorial Hospital was ranked as the No. 1 hospital in Illinois and No. 26 nationally in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. CareChex also ranked Northwestern Memorial as one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation for women's health for 2015. Northwestern Memorial offers women's services for all stages of women's lives, from gynecology and pregnancy care to menopause and bone health. Ochsner Medical Center (New Orleans). Ochsner Medical Center is ranked as the No. 1 hospital in Louisiana and named high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News and World Report for 2014-15. The hospital offers a comprehensive list of women's services, including gynecologic oncology, maternal fetal medicine, prenatal classes, a vulva center, mammography and others. The breast imaging program at Ochsner is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology, and the Lieselotte Tansey Breast Center is fully accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Recently, during a groundbreaking surgery, a team of 18 nurses and physicians operated on a 23-week-old fetus while in his mother's uterus — a surgery fewer than 10 hospitals in the U.S. are able to perform — to correct a spina bifida birth defect.

Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (Philadelphia). Clinicians at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center provide care for females of all ages, from adolescence through the childbearing and menopausal years. Ranked No. 10 in the country by U.S. News & World Report for gynecology, Penn Presbyterian boasts research centers for maternal and child health, women's health, human behavior and reproduction and ovarian cancer. Penn Presbyterian was also within the top 100 hospitals for women's health by CareChex on America's Top Quality Hospitals 2015 list and received a 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

Poudre Valley Hospital (Fort Collins, Colo.). Part of Aurora-based University of Colorado Health, the 270-bed facility offers medical services for residents of northern Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska. U.S. News & World Report named the hospital as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15. Poudre Valley Hospital offers comprehensive services for women of all ages, including behavioral health, breast health, genetic testing and counseling, mammograms, pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care and more. Poudre Valley Hospital is designated Baby-Friendly by Baby-Friendly USA and also earned Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award.

ProMedica Toledo (Ohio) Hospital. ProMedica Toledo Hospital, also known as The Toledo Hospital, employs 4,800 healthcare professionals. More than 1,000 primary care physicians and specialists are also on staff to provide care at the 794-bed hospital. ProMedica Toledo Hospital is a top healthcare facility for women. Nearly half of Toledo's babies, about 4,400 each year, are born there. High-risk infants can be transported to the hospital's Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital offers a range of women's healthcare services, including obstetrics and gynecology, preparation for parenthood programs and a breast care center outfitted with a dedicated breast MRI. The hospital earned the Healthgrades Women's Health Excellence Award in 2014, was recognized as a high-performing gynecology center by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15 and ranked 17th in the nation for women's health programs by CareChex.

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center (Mission Hill, Calif.). Providence Holy Cross has 377 beds and offers women's and children's services and provides a Level II trauma center. Its women's services include prenatal and postnatal care and education programs, maternity services and perinatology specialists, outpatient diagnostic center, and health and wellness education programs. Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is designated as a Baby-Friendly facility by Baby-Friendly USA and received the 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

Riverside Methodist Hospital (Columbus, Ohio). Riverside Methodist, which has served central Ohio since the late 1800s, offers women's health services as well as maternity care. The hospital specializes in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies and their babies and offers one of the state's largest maternity programs. Riverside Methodist Hospital was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health for 2015 by CareChex.

Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles). The UCLA Medical Center was given Ronald Reagan's name in 2008 with a brand new 10-story facility. The new facility includes a unique birthing environment for mothers, called "The Birthing Place," which allows them to stay in a home-like setting that can transform into an operating room for delivery. In addition to "The Birthing Place," UCLA Medical Center provides some of the top women's healthcare in the nation: U.S. News & World Report ranked UCLA Medical Center as 11th in the nation for gynecology for 2014-15. The center provides women with prenatal care, obstetrics and gynecology services, family medicine, maternal-fetal medicine and pelvic healthcare. It also operates nine OB/GYN outpatient facilities.

Roper Hospital (Charleston, S.C.). Roper Hospital has 368 beds, including a comprehensive ICU. Its other offerings include a 24-hour emergency room, rooftop helipad, heart and vascular center, inpatient and outpatient surgery, a cancer center and a breast care center. It was founded in 1829. In its rankings for 2015, CareChex named Roper Hospital No. 45 in the nation for women's health.

Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend (Springfield, Ore.). Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend is part of PeaceHealth, a Catholic healthcare system that serves communities in the Northwest. The PeaceHealth Nurse Midwifery Birth Center in Springfield is designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital by Baby Friendly USA. Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend was named one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation for women's health in CareChex's rankings for 2015.

Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital. Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, which includes Sarasota Memorial Hospital, is an 806-bed regional medical center with about 4,000 staff, 802 physicians and 1,000 volunteers. The full-service health system specializes in heart, vascular, cancer and neuroscience services, along with a network of outpatient centers, long-term care and rehabilitation, among other programs. Sarasota Memorial provides obstetrical services, pediatrics and Level III neonatal intensive care in Sarasota County. Sarasota Memorial was named one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Scott & White Memorial Hospital (Temple, Texas). Scott & White Memorial, part of Baylor Scott & White, is a 636-bed specialty care and teaching hospital. Its neonatal intensive care unit ranks among the top in survival of the fragile newborns it treats. The hospital also offers advanced imaging. Scott & White Memorial received the 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award and was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health in CareChex's rankings for 2015.

Scripps La Jolla (Calif.) Hospitals and Clinics. Scripps La Jolla Memorial Hospital offers a wide range of clinical, surgical and specialty services. Scripps' women's health services include obstetrics and gynecology, maternity services and breast care. Scripps La Jolla Hospitals and Clinics was named one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15. Scripps La Jolla was named one of the nation's top 100 hospitals for women's health in CareChex's 2015 rankings.

UF Health Shands Hospital (Gainesville). UF Health's women's center offers several services, including obstetrics and gynecology, infertility, oncofertility, urogynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The department of obstetrics and gynecology at UF has more than 50,000 patients annually and its clinicians deliver more than 3,000 babies each year. In its rankings for 2015, CareChex placed Shands in the top 100 in the nation for women's health. U.S. News & World Report named it as the No. 3 hospital in Florida and as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15.

South Nassau Communities Hospital (Oceanside, N.Y.). South Nassau offers a well-appointed maternity unit, fully equipped labor, delivery and recovery rooms, specialized care for high-risk pregnancies, a comprehensive education program and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit. It also offers diagnostic imaging services for women. SNCH was named one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation for women's health in 2014 by CareChex.

Spectrum Health Medical Center (Grand Rapids, Mich.). Spectrum Health Medical Center's campus houses four facilities. That includes Butterworth Hospital, a clinical leader in obstetrics and gynecology, among many other areas. The Family Birthplace at Butterworth Hospital delivers more than 7,000 babies each year and is connected to the Gerber Foundation Neonatal Center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Butterworth Hospital is designated as a Baby-Friendly facility by Baby-Friendly USA and was named one of the top 100 hospitals for women's health in CareChex's 2015 rankings. Additionally, Spectrum Health was named one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

St. Cloud (Minn.) Hospital. St. Cloud is a 489-bed facility with about 4,500 full and part-time employees. The hospital operates under the auspices of the local Catholic Church. St. Cloud offers normal and high-risk obstetrics services. St. Cloud received the 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades and CareChex named it as one of the nation's top 100 hospitals for women's health in its 2015 rankings.

St. Francis Care (Hartford, Conn.). St. Francis Care is an integrated healthcare delivery system and the largest independent Catholic healthcare provider in New England. The hospital's offerings include community-based preventive and primary care, specialty care, high acuity tertiary care and post-acute care. Overall, Saint Francis Care provides access to almost 900 affiliated physicians, three hospital campuses, 12 satellite medical offices and a variety of community clinics. St. Francis Care received the 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

St. Luke's Hospital (Kansas City, Mo.). Nonprofit St. Luke's Hospital is a tertiary referral center. It was the first Kansas City area hospital to provide prenatal support to expectant mothers and was the first hospital nationally to open a center dedicated solely to women's heart health. The hospital was named one of the top 50 hospitals for gynecological care by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

St. Luke's Regional Medical Center (Boise, Idaho). St. Luke's Boise Medical Center had six beds when it was founded in 1902 and is now Idaho's largest health care provider. It also is the flagship hospital of St. Luke's Health System. The hospital is known for its centers of excellence in cancer, heart, and women's and children's care. The hospital received the 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades.

St. Vincent Women's Hospital (Indianapolis). With 48 private rooms, a 26-bed high-risk obstetrics unit and a 75-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit, St. Vincent Women's Hospital is the largest comprehensive women's healthcare facility in Indiana. It was renovated in 2005, two years after it was acquired by St. Vincent Health, part of Ascension Health. This year, the hospital opened a 12-bed neonatal continuing care unit as an extension of their existing Level IV NICU. The hospital offers prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, breast health, menopause support and gynecologic health services. It received Healthgrades' 2014 Women's Health Excellence Award. The main St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital also received the Healthgrades' award in addition to ranking 20th nationally in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report and 5th in the nation for women's health by CareChex in its 2015 rankings.    

St. Vincent's Medical Center (Jacksonville, Fla.). St. Vincent's HealthCare operates three medical center locations in Jacksonville: Clay County, Riverside and Southside. The Southside location was originally founded by three women in 1873, making it the oldest private hospital in Florida. This year, St. Vincent's Medical Center Southside was designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital by Baby-Friendly USA. St. Vincent's delivers about 3,300 babies each year, has a Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit and offers obstetrics and gynecology services and women's education services. The Riverside, Fla., location houses a breast health center which offers a variety of services including digital mammography, breast ultrasound, minimally invasive biopsy, breast MRI and bone densitometry. St. Vincent's Medical Center was rated 21st by CareChex and designated as high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Stanford (Calif.) Health Care. Stanford Hospital & Clinics became Stanford Health Care in July. It has 613 licensed beds, 49 operating rooms and 1,450 faculty physicians. Construction on a new 824,000-square-foot hospital is underway, slated to open in 2018. Stanford Health Care offers a women's cancer center for breast and gynecologic care. Women have access to cancer nutrition services, social workers, genetic counseling and survivorship and support programs. Stanford Health Care also offers a women's heart health clinic with specialized diagnostic evaluation of heart conditions and risk management through counseling, among other services. Stanford Hospital & Clinics (now Stanford Health Care) was ranked 20th in the nation in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

Sutter Medical Center (Sacramento, Calif.). Sutter Medical Center is the heart of the Sutter Health network in northern California. It is comprised of three hospitals: the 306-bed Sutter General Hospital, the 346-bed Sutter Memorial Hospital and the 69-bed Sutter Center for Psychiatry. Sutter General Hospital was recognized by Healthgrades in 2014 with the Women's Health Excellence Award. Sutter Medical Center was designated as Baby-Friendly by Baby-Friendly USA and is ranked as high performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. Sutter Memorial is known as Sacramento's baby hospital and has delivered more babies than any other hospital in the area. Sutter Medical Center provides an array of women's health services including preventive care, women's imaging centers, gynecologic surgery, integrative and holistic health and a program to provide women with health information in different life stages.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is a 726-bed medical center with an array of services including oncology, trauma, cardiology and women's health. The facility has 18 private maternity suites, three cesarean birthing suites and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. It offers a full array of birthing options from robotic hysterectomies to aromatherapy and midwife services. The Fort Worth hospital provides breast care services, pelvic health and female cardiology and diabetes services. It was ranked 29th in the nation for its women's health services by CareChex and was designated as a high-performing hospital for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report. It was named a Baby-Friendly hospital by Baby-Friendly USA in 2010.

The Houston Methodist Hospital. Houston Methodist Hospital is the flagship hospital of the Houston Methodist Hospital System. It one of the nation's largest heart transplant centers and provides excellent women's health. It features a breast care center, oncology department and a center for restorative pelvic medicine, including urogynecology care, in addition to gynecology services, a childbirth center, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility and a wellness program for preventive care. U.S. News & World Report ranked Houston Methodist's main hospital in the top 50 hospitals in the United States for gynecology for 2014-15 and CareChex ranked it 46th in the nation for women's health in its 2015 rankings. This year, it also received the Women's Health Excellence from Healthgrades.

The Queen's Medical Center (Honolulu). Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV founded this nonprofit acute care hospital in 1859. It has grown to be the state's largest private hospital with 505 acute care beds and 28 sub-acute care beds. It employs more than 3,000 people and more than 1,200 physicians are on staff. The medical center's women's health services, which consider both medical and wellness needs, are ranked 31st in the nation by CareChex. Its clinical offerings include digital mammography, diagnostic ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound guided biopsy, genetic counseling, osteoporosis evaluation and a variety of specialized physical therapy programs for women. The hospital also offers massages, facials, exercise classes and special therapeutic services for prenatal and cancer patients.

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia). The Thomas Jefferson University Hospital is the chief facility of Jefferson University Hospitals network, which includes 951 licensed acute care beds across five primary locations. At the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, 7,233 employees, 1,200 medical staff and 1,833 registered nurses provide care for Philadelphia-area patients. The flagship hospital earned top marks for its excellence in women's health, winning the 2014 Women's Health Excellence award from Healthgrades and recognition from U.S. News & World Report as a high-performing gynecology hospital. The healthcare center offers women's diagnostic services, women's routine care, obstetrics, counseling, maternal-fetal medicine, complex gynecologic surgery, pelvic floor care, family planning and menopause care, as well as prevention and wellness resources and education.

UCSF Medical Center (San Francisco). UCSF Medical Center is comprised of two main facilities: the 600-bed Parnassus campus and the 90-bed Mt. Zion hospital and surgery center with 10 operating rooms. A third hospital complex is set to open in 2015. UCSF Medical Center is one of the top 10 hospitals nationwide, according to U.S. News & World Report. It ranks sixth in the nation for gynecology. Its women's health center brings nearly 1,800 babies into the world each year. It also offers antenatal testing, chronic pelvic pain care, comprehensive fibroid services, fetal treatment, obstetrics and gynecology services and surgeries, primary care and a young women's clinic.

University Hospitals Case Medical Center (Cleveland). University Hospitals Case Medical Center was founded in 1866 and is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The University Hospitals MacDonald Women's Hospital is the only Ohio hospital dedicated to women's health. It offers behavior medicine, breast care, maternal-fetal medicine, OB/GYN services, reproductive endocrinology and family medicine. It is among the top 50 programs in the United States for gynecology, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings.

University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. Located in Birmingham's medical district, UAB Hospital is one of the 20 largest hospitals in the nation. The hospital, licensed for 1,157 beds, is also ranked in the top 20 gynecology hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. The UAB Women & Infants Center provides comprehensive care for mothers and children in a 400,000-square-foot facility. It has private neonatal intensive care unit rooms and continuing care rooms, plus isolation rooms for twins and triplets. It provides families and supporting people with lounges, kitchenettes, dens and play areas during care and delivery. It is the state's only 24/7 maternity evaluation unit, offering women 16 weeks pregnant or more a place to ask questions or voice concerns at any time.

University of Arizona Medical Center (Tucson). This 429-bed teaching hospital offers high-performing gynecology services, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. It is spread over three campuses, including the University Campus, South Campus and Diamond Children', and an additional 40 clinics. The hospital provides breast healthcare, breast and gynecologic cancer diagnoses and treatments, women's diabetes services, heart healthcare, interventional radiology, minimally invasive surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, a pelvic floor center and plastic and reconstructive surgery.

University of California Davis Medical Center (Sacramento). The University of California Davis Medical Center serves a surrounding area of 65,000 square miles. The 619-bed acute care teaching hospital is a Level I pediatric and adult trauma center. Women's Choice Award named it one of the best heart care hospitals in the nation this year. It also ranks in the top 50 hospitals for gynecology, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings. Its women's clinic offers gynecologic care and maternity services. In addition to reproductive surgeries, the center also provides reproductive cancer care in a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. There, clinicians provide cancer genetics risk assessments and conduct research in women's health.

University of Colorado Hospital (Aurora). U.S. News & World Report ranked University of Colorado Hospital No. 19 in the country for gynecology in 2014-15. The hospital, and the larger University of Colorado Health System, offers a comprehensive suite of women's health services, including, but not limited to, breast health, cancer care, infertility and reproductive care, midwifery services, urinary incontinence and complete gynecological care. UC Health's Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins offers a prenatal care program providing complete pre- and post-pregnancy care for low-income women in northern Colorado.

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (Iowa City). Approximately 2,000 babies are delivered each year at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to the standard women's health offerings, the system offers a number of specialized services, such as an LGBTQ clinic. The Women's Health Department at UI is a partner of Spirit of Women, a coalition of hospitals providing information to women to encourage them to become key players in their overall health. The health system was ranked 15th in the country for gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15.

University of Kansas Hospital (Kansas City). Nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report for gynecology in 2014-15, University of Kansas Hospital features four specialized women's care centers: Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine, Center for High-Risk Pregnancy, Center for Advanced Fetal Care and Center for Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine. The hospital also has a Center for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery for gynecological conditions and offers pediatric gynecology services. The neonatal care unit offers 28 private rooms and four private rooms designed specifically for the care of multiple newborns. The hospital is Magnet-designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital (Lexington). The University of Kentucky Hospital was ranked No. 10 for women's health in CareChex's 2015 rankings and offers both primary and subspecialty care for women's health issues, including high-risk pregnancies, treatment of gynecologic malignancies, infertility and other gynecologic problems. The UK Birthing Center is the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region.

University of Michigan Health System (Ann Arbor). The University of Michigan Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital opened in 2011 on the system's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital campus. The hospital features a birthing center, perinatal assessment center, high-risk labor and delivery area, neonatal ICU and a fetal surgery program. The hospital also offers comprehensive services in breast care, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, family planning, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and hysterectomy alternatives, among others. The hospital was ranked No. 26 in the country for women's health by CareChex in its 2015 rankings and is recognized as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report's 2014-15 rankings.

University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. The department of obstetrics and gynecology at University of Rochester Medical Center offers services in gynecology, gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, obstetrics and pelvic health and continence specialties. The medical center also hosts the Strong Fertility Center, the longest-standing in vitro fertilization center in upstate New York, the URMC Fibroid Center and the URMC Midwifery Group. Strong Memorial Hospital, part of URMC was recognized by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Surgical Review Corp. as an AAGL Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. The medical center was also nationally ranked in gynecology for 2014-15 by U.S. News & World Report.

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston). U.S. News & World Report ranked University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center No. 8 in the country for gynecology in 2014-15. The hospital provides services through a number of multidisciplinary care centers, including the Nellie B. Connally Breast Cancer Center and the Laura Lee Blanton Gynecological Oncology Center. MD Anderson also offers a number of specialized clinics, such as a sexual health clinic, oncofertility clinic, gynecologic genetics clinic and a colposcopy clinic. Researchers at MD Anderson helped discover a tumor marker that may help diagnose some types of gynecologic cancers in early stages. It also houses two Specialized Program of Research Excellence programs to study gynecological cancers; one for ovarian cancer and the other for uterine cancer — the only one in the country.

University of Virginia Medical Center (Charlottesville). The care team at University of Virginia Medical Center treats patients with a number of women's health-related conditions. The hospital features a midlife health center focused on caring for women over 40 years old — one of few such centers in the country — and a teen health center offering primary care, education and advocacy for patients from 12 to 24 years old. UVA Medical Center offers advanced minimally invasive procedures for gynecologic conditions, including focused ultrasounds, office hysteroscopy, advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery. CareChex ranked University of Virginia Medical Center No. 11 in the country for women's health for 2015, and U.S. News & World Report recognized it as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15.

University of Washington Medical Center (Seattle). The University of Washington Medical Center has received a number of accolades recognizing it for its women's health programs: U.S. News & World Report ranked it among the top 25 hospitals in the nation for gynecology in 2014-15, CareChex ranked it among the top 100 hospitals for women's health for 2015 and it was designated as a Baby-Friendly hospital by Baby-Friendly USA. The hospital offers services across the range of women's health, including obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive care. Researchers at UW Medicine were involved with developing the human papilloma virus vaccine.

University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (Madison). University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics offers clinics treating breast cancer, gynecology and women's pelvic wellness. The Women's Pelvic Wellness Clinic offers treatments and comprehensive care for pelvic floor disorders, such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder and bowel control, fecal incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections, among other conditions. Additionally, the UW Health Breast Center treats benign breast conditions and breast cancer, in collaboration with the UW Carbone Cancer Center. U.S. News & World Report nationally ranked the hospital for gynecology in 2014-15.

Via Christi Hospital St. Francis (Wichita, Kan.). In 2014, Via Christi Hospital St. Francis received a Women's Health Excellence Award from Healthgrades. The hospital's Cancer Institute offers state-of-the-art treatments, including CyberKnife technology and a robotic surgery system. Via Christi's Pittsburg, Kan., campus is home to the Dr. M.K. Parsi Women's Center, which features five labor rooms, an operating room equipped for cesarean section births and 13 private postpartum suites.

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a 853-bed general medicine and surgical facility with more than 38,000 annual admissions. It was ranked the No. 2 hospital in North Carolina and high-performing in gynecology by U.S. News & World Report for 2014-15 and ranked No. 18 among CareChex's Top Quality Hospitals for Women's Health for 2015. In addition to reproductive medicine, the department of obstetrics at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center offers services in all areas of women's health, including maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery, among others. Current areas of research in obstetrics and gynecology include studies of endometrial carcinoma, endometriosis, uterine receptivity, stress-induced ovulatory dysfunction and others.

Wheaton Franciscan-St. Joseph Campus (Milwaukee). U.S. News & World Report recognized Wheaton Franciscan-St. Joseph as high-performing in gynecology for 2014-15, CareChex named the hospital among the top 100 for women's health for 2015 and Healthgrades awarded the hospital a Women's Health Excellence Award for 2014. The hospital offers services and treatment options for women's wellness, adolescent gynecology, breast health exams, gynecologic surgery, pelvic organ prolapse and osteoporosis and bone health. Additionally, the birth center offers specialized services in gestational diabetes, genetic counseling and testing and specialized pediatric care.

Winthrop-University Hospital (Mineola, N.Y.). The department of obstetrics and gynecology at Winthrop-University Hospital features services in general obstetrics and gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, reproductive endocrinology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The department also is home to the New Life Center, a specialized birthing center in the hospital. Winthrop-University Hospital clinicians offer robotic surgery. U.S. News & World Report recognized the hospital as high-performing in gynecology in 2014-15 and Baby-Friendly USA has designated the hospital as Baby-Friendly. The hospital is also among CareChex's top 100 hospitals for women's health for 2015.

Woman's Hospital (Baton Rouge, La.). Woman's Hospital offers women and children healthcare across the spectrum, including breast care, bone and joint care, fertility, gynecology, heart health and maternal-fetal medicine, among many others. When it opened November 1968, Woman's Hospital was one of the first women's specialty hospitals in the country. Currently, it is one of the nation's biggest, with 168 adult beds and 72 neonatal intensive care unit beds. The hospital performs more than 7,000 surgeries, 44,000 mammograms and 54,000 pap smears each year.

Yale-New Haven (Conn.) Hospital. U.S. News & World Report ranked Yale-New Haven Hospital among the top 20 hospitals in the country for gynecology in 2014-15. The hospital's gynecological services include a breast center, urogynecology and a Women's Heart Program. The hospital's maternity services include a neonatal intensive care unit, prenatal testing and breastfeeding support. Additionally, the fetal echocardiography ultrasound diagnostic test was developed at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
