Transportation company owners plead guilty to $2.1M Medicaid fraud scheme

The owners of a New York Medicaid-enrolled transportation company pleaded guilty to their roles in a $2.1 million Medicaid fraud and kickback scheme.

DYD Universe owners, Damir Yuldashev, 64, Daler Yuldashev, 38, and Nigina Iskandarova, 60, all of Monroe, N.Y., admitted that they submitted fraudulent claims for services they did not provide and toll charges that were not incurred, according to an Oct. 22 news release from the New York Attorney General's Office.

The scheme occurred from April 2018 to March 2023, according to the release. The owners also admitted to paying illegal kickbacks in exchange for providing the company with their confidential Medicaid identification in order to carry out the scheme.

Damir Yuldashev will be sentenced to two to six years in prison and, along with Daler Yuldashev, must pay back more than $2.1 million to Medicaid. Daler Yuldashev and Ms. Iskandarova will be sentenced to probation. All three will be permanently banned from being providers in all government-funded health programs.
