Mass General Brigham faces federal patent infringement lawsuit

Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham is being accused of infringing on the patent of a diagnostic technology, according to an amended federal lawsuit filed Jan. 18.

Tamabo Inc. and 511 Technologies Inc. are suing the health system and its subsidiaries Tumor Imaging Metrics Core, Precision Imaging Metrics and Yunu.

According to the complaint, the defendants improperly used or commercialized a technology invented by Armin Moehrle that syncs viewer gestures over a video or image to help with diagnostics or teaching sessions. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

A Mass General Brigham spokesperson declined comment to Becker's.
