Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, R, signed a bill into law that specifies down to the font and paper how and what information abortion providers should give prospective patients, according to a report from The Witchita Eagle.
Kansas abortion providers are now required by law to give patients the following information printed in black ink on white paper in size 12 Times New Roman font:
- Medical degree information
- Work history
- Malpractice insurance
- History of disciplinary action
- State residence
- Clinical privileges at local hospitals
Proponents of the law say it helps inform women more clearly, while opponents say the law is bureaucratic and will not affect women's health, according to the report.
