A judge has dismissed a case against the Missouri State Auditor's Office brought by Hospital Partners related to billing at one of its Missouri hospitals, according to ABC/CBS affiliate KTVO.
A 2017 report by Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway revealed that 15-bed Putnam County Memorial hospital in Unionville received $92 million in insurance payments in less than a year for lab services that were performed at other U.S. facilities.
In April 2018, Hospital Partners — a Florida-based company that managed Putnam County Memorial — filed a lawsuit against the hospital board and the state auditor's office.
The lawsuit accused the hospital board of illegally ending the company’s management contract and alleged that Ms. Galloway overstepped by auditing a privately managed hospital, according to local NPR station KCUR.
Hospital Partners sought $2 million in damages from the hospital board and Ms. Galloway.
