The former chief of cardiology at Johnson City (Tenn.) Medical Center was arraigned earlier this week on charges of obtaining narcotics by fraud, according to a Greenville Sun report.
William Walker, MD, was fired from his position at JCMC when police launched an investigation earlier this year. He pleaded not guilty to 34 Class D felonies.
Three of Dr. Walker's surgical employees at JCMC were also fired from their positions following the police investigation, according to the report. As of Monday, those employees had not been charged.
