A bill has been introduced that would help coordinate care for children with complex medical conditions who have healthcare coverage through Medicaid.
The Advancing Care for Exception Kids Act of 2014 is aimed at improving health outcomes for children on Medicaid while cutting healthcare costs.
The legislation "will allow for better care coordination through nationally designated networks that cross state lines under Medicaid," said Mark Wietecha, president and CEO of the Children's Hospital Association, in a news release.
The proposed national networks are backed by more than 60 children's hospitals across the country.
