South Haven (Mich.) Health System will eliminate its obstetrics services in May, laying off 19 employees, according to a WWMT report.
System officials pointed to fewer births and decreasing Medicaid reimbursements as reasons why the services needed to be cut.
Most of the affected employees are nurses, according to the report.
