MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., is cutting management and non-management positions from its workforce, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The hospital did not confirm how many positions will be eliminated, but an internal memo indicated 120 jobs could be affected, according to the report. Nurses will not be affected by the cuts.
Washington Hospital Center has been facing growing financial pressures due to Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement reductions as well as lower admissions and inpatient surgery volumes, according to the report.
