The American Society for Clinical Pathology and the Joint Commission are kicking off a lab recognition program, the organizations said in an Oct. 27 news release.
Joint Commission-accredited hospital labs are eligible for the Leading Laboratories designation, which is designed to recognize laboratory excellence and highlight achievements in improving patient outcomes, according to the release.
Labs that have been denied accreditation are ineligible to apply, according to the organization's website.
Applications to the program opened on Oct. 27.
