Genetic testing company Fulgent Genetics opened a next-generation sequencing lab in El Monte, Calif., and appointed or promoted four people across its leadership team.
Fulgent said in a May 3 news release that its new Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendment-certified lab spans 25,000 square feet and will supplement sequencing capabilities with testing across immunohistory, flow cytometry, cytogenetic analysis, fluorescence in-situ hybridization and molecular genetics.
The company also named COO James Xie as its president in addition to his current role, according to a separate May 3 news release. Mr. Xie has been a member of the executive team since Fulgent's founding.
Chris Wicker has been named vice president and general manager Fulgent divisions CSI Laboratories and Inform Diagnostics. He was formerly CSI Laboratories' CEO and CFO and joined Fulgent through the company's acquisition in August.
Natalie Prescott has joined Fulgent as vice president of legal and deputy general counsel. She formerly served as a business litigator in law firm Mintz Levin.
Fulgent HR manager Ellen Tsui has been promoted to vice president of human resources. Before joining Fulgent, she served for more than 10 years in human resources management.
