Genetic testing company Fulgent Genetics has agreed to acquire pathology lab Inform Diagnostics for $170 million.
Inform Diagnostics is one of the largest national pathology labs in the U.S. and offers services including gastrointestinal pathology, dermatopathology, urologic pathology and hematopathology. It provides services to about 1,300 clients who represent 2,700 physicians.
Fulgent said April 18 that the deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. The acquisition would bolster Fulgent's testing capabilities, sales force and managed care contracts and expand Fulgent's footprint to labs in New York, Arizona, Massachusetts and Texas.
