Following a March 2022 rollout, Dimension, a venture capital fund focusing on digital life science, launched its first fund with $350 million to invest.
The fund was founded by three alums of Lux Capital and Obvious Ventures. Dimension will target early state companies specializing in drug discovery platforms, machine learning and software companies in the life sciences field, according to a Jan. 25 Dimension letter to investors.
Addressing questions of economic uncertainty, Dimension said it believes that the "long-term potential of technology and science is independent from market cycles."
"A generational confluence of advances in software, hardware, machine learning and lab science have created prime conditions for a leap forward in life science capability and productivity," Dimension said in the letter to investors. "The digitization of life sciences will transform the entire end-to-end journey of medicines."
