Sutter launches new innovation center

Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health announced the launch of a new innovation center that will be located in San Francisco.

Designed to be close to Silicon Valley, the health system is aiming to open the innovation center in early 2024. The center will work with venture capital firms and early-stage digital health startups to test healthcare tools in a real–world environment, according to an Oct.10 Sutter Health news release.

Additionally, the center will enhance Sutter's existing partnerships with medtech companies such as Ferrum Health, a company that uses artificial intelligence to support radiologists.

"We believe healthcare is at an inflection point," Sutter Health Chief Innovation Officer Chris Waugh said in the release. "Sutter's history is etched with groundbreaking innovations and partnerships that have elevated the patient experience. With the innovation center, we're propelling our mission to new heights – igniting innovation through an unapologetically human-centric lens and ensuring a dynamic transformation that enhances the experience for both patients and providers alike."
