Hippocratic AI raises $15M, partners with 3 health systems

Hippocratic AI, a generative artificial intelligence platform for healthcare, has partnered with three health systems and raised $15 million in funding, according to a company news release shared July 25 with Becker's.

Cincinnati Children’s, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth, and King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services became founding partners of Hippocratic AI, while Cincinnati Children's and HonorHealth are investing in the startup.

Hippocratic AI launched in May with $50 million in funding co-led by General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz. The startup was co-founded by Meenesh Bhimani, MD, the former COO of Mountain View, Calif.-based El Camino Health. "In my 20 years of post-residency, as a physician and hospital administrator, I have never seen this level of excitement in new technology," he told Becker's at the time. "This is an opportunity to really transform the delivery of healthcare."

The founding partners will help develop the large language model and technology, establish use cases, and validate clinical and patient safety.
