Three patients have tested positive for Legionella at Cincinnati-based Christ Hospital's main campus, NBC affiliate WLWT5 reported March 11.
The hospital has not identified where the patients contracted the bacteria, according to the report. The hospital has increased water testing protocols and begun to investigate potential hospital sources.
In the meantime, they are using bottled water in patient care and have installed additional water filters throughout the hospital.
"We have an extensive water treatment program in place and will continue to adhere to advanced safety protocols and guidelines in coordination with City of Cincinnati Department of Health and the Ohio Department of Health. We continue with normal hospital operations with no interruption to patient care," the Christ Hospital Health Network said in a statement.
