University Hospital in Newark, N.J., has reached a tentative agreement with the union representing more than 900 registered nurses at the hospital, according to the Health Professionals and Allied Employees Local 5089.
Union representatives said the agreement includes "stronger target staffing levels for every unit," as well as "nonhostile workplace language." It also addresses wages.
The agreement came after both sides had been in contract talks for more than a year. Union members are scheduled to vote on the agreement Dec. 10 and Dec. 11.
Editor's note: Becker's reached out to the hospital and will post updates as they are available.
