1. Workers at Chicago-based Mount Sinai Hospital voted to empower their bargaining team to call a strike if they are unable to reach an agreement with hospital management.
2. Healthcare workers rallied outside Philadelphia-based Temple University Hospital Oct. 1 to protect their jobs amid contract negotiations.
3. Warren (Pa.) General Hospital and unionized workers reached a new labor deal affecting 130 nurses, medical technologists, medical lab technicians and social workers.
4. Reno, Nev.-based Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center reached a three-year labor deal with nurses.
5. Workers at Staten Island (N.Y.) University Hospital picketed Oct. 2, accusing hospital management of pushing to decertify recently unionized physician assistants.
6. Registered nurses at University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Ill., voted to unionize.
