Workers at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago rallied Thursday over wages, reports Crain's Chicago Business.
Here are three things to know.
1. The workers, represented by Service Employees International Union Healthcare Illinois, advocated for a $15 minimum wage, according to the report. They were joined by Chicago aldermen and community leaders.
2. SEIU told Crain's Chicago Business the current minimum wage for union workers, such as custodians, patient transport technicians, patient care technicians and dietary/food service and environmental service workers, is $11.50 an hour.
3. Hospital spokesman Chris King declined to comment on the rally, citing ongoing contract negotiations with the union.
