Registered nurses and Bangor-based Eastern Maine Medical Center have reached a tentative labor deal.
The tentative three-year contract agreement covers more than 800 nurses represented by the Maine State Nurses Association. It includes "language protecting the role of the 'charge nurse,'" as well as pay increases and protections for benefits, according to union officials. They said it also ensures patients receive care from trained and experienced nurses.
The nurses and hospital have been negotiating since May. The nurses are slated to vote on the tentative labor deal Sept. 21.
