Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital-union events after June 18.
1. After months of negotiations and working without a contract, nurses at Tacoma, Wash.-based St. Joseph Medical Center are preparing for a possible strike.
2. The National Labor Relations Board ruled that hospitals and other employers may restrict union activity by nonemployees in public areas of their facilities.
3. Allina Health nurses reached tentative contracts with hospitals in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
4. Nurses reached tentative contracts with Fairview, Methodist and HealthEast systems, based in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.
5. Nurses at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, rejected a tentative agreement between the hospital and the union representing them.
