University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington and unionized nurses have tentatively agreed on per diem employment and hours of work/staff schedules, hospital officials confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review.
Also on July 24, both sides agreed on contract language changes on floating, overtime and educational reimbursement. Details were not released, and more bargaining sessions have been scheduled for Aug. 1 and Aug. 13.
The agreements come about two weeks after about 1,800 nurses, represented by the Vermont Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals Local 5221, ended a 48-hour walkout over wages and working conditions.
Neither side made wage proposals in the most recent bargaining session.
