Marina Del Rey Hospital Finalizes Union Contract

Marina Del Rey (Calif.) Hospital has finalized a contract with the California Nurses Association, effective March 2.

The new union contract allows for wage increases and retention bonuses for the hospital's nurses. It also allows the hospital to offer training programs and continuing education opportunities to members of the nursing staff.

"Finalizing this contract demonstrates Marina Del Rey Hospital's dedication to its valued employees who work so hard to care for our patients each day," CNO Paulette Heitmeyer said in a news release. "The new wage and benefit package demonstrates the contributions of our nursing staff and supports the long-term viability of the hospital."

This is the second major union contract the 145-bed hospital has struck recently: it established an agreement with the Service Employees International Union in November.
