Lifespan Clips 107 Jobs

Providence, R.I.-based Lifespan is cutting 107 positions through layoffs and the elimination of empty positions, according to a Rhode Island Public Radio report.

About two-thirds of the 107 eliminated positions were empty, and the rest were cut through management and staff layoffs, according to the report.

Lifespan is trying to trim $150 million from its budget due to sequester cuts and a drop in Medicare and Medicaid funding, according to Rhode Island Public Radio.
