L+M Nurses, Technicians Ratify Contract

In a Monday vote, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital's unionized nurses and technicians in New London, Conn., approved a 28-month contract, according to a report by The Hartford Courant.

The previous contract between the hospital and AFT Connecticut expired Nov. 16. The new contract agreement ends a month-long impasse between the two groups, which included a four-day strike and a weeks-long lock out.

The new contract covers how to handle job transfer issues in the future, which is what led to the November strike, according to the report.
