1. New York City RNs authorize strike affecting 3 health systems, 10,000 nurses
Registered nurses voted to authorize a strike affecting about 10,000 RNs at Montefiore, Mount Sinai and NewYork-Presbyterian locations across New York City
2. Rhode Island hospital workers authorize strike notice
Workers at Fatima Hospital in North Providence, R.I., gave their bargaining team the OK to give a 10-day strike notice to the hospital if necessary.
3. California community hospital averts strike
Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley, Calif., reached an agreement with registered nurses, averting a 10-day strike.
4. Massachusetts hospital takes union vote challenge to DC
St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Mass., revealed it will take a challenge to a November union election to Washington, D.C.
5. CHI St. Alexius nurses try for second time to unionize
A group of nurses at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, N.D., are once again trying to unionize.
6. Oregon hospital support staff win union by 1 vote
Support staff at Providence Portland (Ore.) Medical Center decided by one vote to unionize.
7. Federal labor board affirms disbanding USC hospital union
The National Labor Relations Board has affirmed election results that led to the disbanding of a union at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, Calif.
