Service workers at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill, Pa., have voted to join District 1199C, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report.
Among the 236 eligible workers at St. Christopher's, the vote was 161-7 in favor of unionization, the union said, according to the report. Among the 203 eligible workers at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, the vote was 95-60.
District 1199C already represents employees such as cafeteria workers, laundry workers, maintenance staff and other service employees at eight Philadelphia area hospitals, the report states.
