Employee fired from Tennessee system over social media post

Regional One Health dismissed an employee after "offensive content" was shared on their personal social media account, the Memphis, Tenn.-based health system confirmed in a statement shared with Becker's.

"We were made aware of a situation involving one of our employees sharing offensive content on their personal social media account," the statement said. "Our investigation found that this behavior was inconsistent with our policies and values as an organization. As such, the individual is no longer employed at Regional One Health."

The statement did not provide the gender of the employee, the employee's role, or greater details about the content of the post. Becker's will update this story if more information becomes available.

Regional One Health added that it investigates all allegations of inappropriate behavior involving employees and addresses them according to its employment policies.

"Regional One Health holds employees to a high standard. We are committed to upholding our mission to provide compassionate care and exceptional services to all," the health system's statement said.

"This includes fostering a safe and respectful work and care environment for all. Behaviors contrary to these principles are unacceptable and will not be tolerated."

Regional One Health, which includes Regional Medical Center, serves the Mid-South region, encompassing west Tennessee, east Arkansas and north Mississippi.
