Washington (Pa.) Health System ended its partnership with Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network and signed a new agreement with UMPC, also in Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
As part of the new contract, four surgeons from UPMC's Heart and Vascular Institute will join WHS heart surgeons in an effort to markedly expand cardiac care to residents in the area, according to the article.
WHS had previously contracted with Three Rivers Cardiac Institute in Pittsburgh since 1991.
