Kennedy Health System, based in Washington Township, N.J., and Virtua, based in Marlton, N.J., have confirmed they have begun considering "collaboration opportunities" with one another, according to a report by the South Jersey Times.
Kennedy has 621 beds across its three hospitals. Virtua has four hospitals and 1,178 beds.
Talks are still in early stages, and no details of the plan have been announced. Representatives from both systems said more details of the discussions will be made public as they develop.
