Grenada (Miss.) Lake Medical Center board members met Monday with officials from Jackson-based University of Mississippi Medical Center to discuss a lease proposal, according to a report by the Grenada Star.
Last month, UMMC changed the terms of the tentative agreement to operate the hospital, according to the report. After the latest meeting, Grenada Board President Chad Bridges told the Grenada Star he was "hopeful that the issue that has held up progress to this point has been resolved to some extent."
Although a proposed restructuring of the hospital's $26 million bond obligation is in discussions, Mr. Bridges said this was not the cause for the slowdown in reaching a definitive agreement, according to the report.
Both systems have not disclosed financial details or a timetable for the agreement, according to the report.
