Eleven healthcare deals valued at more than $1 billion each have been recorded so far in 2015, according to a report from Irving Levin Associates.
Those 11 deals have a combined value of $64.4 billion, with the pharmaceuticals sector's $30.45 billion in deals making up the largest portion of the total.

1. AbbVie's purchase of Pharmacyclics — $21 billion
2. Pfizer's purchase of Hospira — $17 billion
3. Valeant Pharmaceuticals' purchase of Salix Pharmaceuticals — $10.1 billion
4. Shire's purchase of NPS Pharmaceuticals — $5.2 billion
5. Mallinckrodt's purchase of Ikaria — $2.3 billion
