Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health and Loris (S.C.) Healthcare System have announced preliminary discussions to explore a merger, according to an SC Now report.
Discussions between the two groups — which already partner for cardiac and orthopedic services — reportedly began last year.
As part of the deal currently being explored, Loris and McLeod would maintain local governance and management, according to the report.
