Fargo, N.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has received permission from federal antitrust officials to acquire Bismarck, N.D.-based Medcenter One Hospital, according to a Bismarck Tribune report.
Earlier this month, the two hospitals signed a letter of intent and agreed to a memorandum of understanding for a potential merger. On June 12, the Federal Trade Commission announced that the merger received early termination approval from the antitrust review process.
According to the report, the merger must go through additional regulatory filings to fulfill the due diligence process.
